Dennis Coffey Releases Self-Titled Album on Strut + Steinski Remix MP3
April 25th, 2011Dennis Coffey has released a new self-titled album on the legendary Strut Records; check out the video above of Dennis getting down with Stones Throw’s Mayer Hawthorne, covering the Parliament song “All Your Goodies Are Gone.” An original member of the Motown Funk Brothers, this self-titled album is reminiscent of Coffey’s earliest work in the 60’s. As a solo artist, Coffey is best known for his groove classics during the early 70’s, including the heavily sampled “Scorpio.” Decades later in 2011, Dennis Coffey’s new album contains the perfect balance of fresh new sounds while staying true to the reputation he has withheld for so long.
