Jill Scott ft. Anthony Hamilton – “So In Love” & “Shame”

The second single from Jill Scott, “So In Love” featuring Anthony Hamilton, will be released on Jill’s upcoming album, The Light of the Sun. Jill Scott and Anthony Hamilton croon in their best style here: the new single is a soulful, bluesy love song, and yes, there is a spoken word break, which may inspire you. After hearing this sweet new duet, and the fiesty first single, “Shame (ft. Eve),” we cannot wait for the new Jill Scott album this year!

Larry Coryell Releases New Album With The Wide Hive Players

Larry Coryell With the Wide Hive Players comes out today and we have a new streaming track from the album on Soundcloud: “Honey Dijon.” On the new album, Larry Coryell aka ‘Godfather of Fusion,’ joins forces with The Wide Hive Players for these 13 electrifying new tracks.  Well-known for his driving tone and intricate flurries; Coryell delivers amazing and intense performances over solid, expansive grooves established by The Wide Hive Players. The Players, now consisting of the enormously talented rhythm section of bassist Matt Montgomery (Calvin Keys and Variable Unit) and Thomas McCree (Lyrics Born’s drummer), horn players Mike Rinta (Sly Stone, Santana), Doug Rowan (Jazz Mafia) and Pianist Adam Shulman, all contribute to create a cohesive alive sound, reminiscent of Coryell’s popular 1972-1974 era. Primarily jazz-funk, the album also glows with overtones of soul, blues, and has a definitive rock undercurrent. The record is timeless and current; reflective of past craftsmanship while remaining progressive and original.
