New Track: Siaira Shawn – “Unthinkable” (Cover) + MP3

Ahhh! Much excitement. Our good homegirl Siaira Shawn out of Oakland just released a super rad cover of Alicia Keys’ “Unthinkable.” Keep a lookout for this lady; her mellow sing-song ways can make anything better.

And for those that have just been put on, check out Siaira’s EP, The In Between, that dropped last year. It’s a free download on Bandcamp!

New Track: Stimulus & Chris Dave – “Full Grown” (ft. Bilal & Renee Neufville) + MP3

3rd 1st Impression is about taking a “first” look again, but from a brand new light, away from a wider known persona.

This collaborative mixtape features drummer Chris ‘Daddy’ Dave on production and Stimulus, known to most as a DJ, as an emcee. Out as a free download on September 12th, the mixtape will feature guest spots from Bilal, Renee Neufville, Stokley (of Mint Condition), Casey Benjamin and Screechy Dan. And yes, mister Dave handles all the production and Stimulus is indeed on lead rappity rap duty.

The first single from the project, “Full Grown,” dropped last week and it’s pretty rad. Featuring Bilal and Renee Neufville on guest vocals, Chris Dave and Stimulus seem to have banged out a solid track like it was nothing. If this is the mixtape, we’re going to need to know what an album sounds like, please.

Some may know the honey-coated voice known as Fatima from her work on Shafiq Husayn’s addictive track, “Lil Girl.” In June, the London-based artist released an EP entitled Follow You, and today we have for you the video for “Mind” off this release. Filmed in Hackney, the simple video provides an even foundation for soaking in the song, keeping the focus on Fatima’s powerful vocals.
