Lijadu Sisters to Reissue 4 Out-of-Print Albums

Nigerian twins The Lijadu Sisters (Taiwo and Kehinde) may not be known to many but they will be. Cousins of Fela Kuti, the women wrote some powerful political and topical material, which they recorded at the famed Decca studios in Lagos, Nigeria, a hotspot for the Nigerian music scene in the 1970′s.

On the albums, you will hear a combination of afrobeat, western pop music, and reggae, with lyrics sung in both English and Yoruba. These collectors’ gems will be available digitally and on CD for the first time ever – and yes, you’ll be able to cop the vinyl as well.

Danger will be the first release on November 8th. Get ready for uplifting, energetic, and funky music that’ll have you spinning. Below, you’ll find the schedule of all the releases along with a stream of “Danger.”
