California-based producer Nick Waterhouse may be a newcomer but he’s certainly already creating a space for himself within the realm of vintage soul.

His dedication to preserving a vintage sound is impressive when you consider his technique, which includes “entirely vintage analog equipment, open-reel tape machines, lacquer cutting machines, and even hand letter-pressed labels.”

If you dig Mark Ronson or Mayer Hawthorne, you need to pay attention to this dude.

Also, grab his EP, Is That Clear, that dropped a couple months ago and keep a lookout for a full album out in 2012!

New Tracks: Anchorsong – “Ghost Touch” / “Plum Rain”


Japanese multi-instrumentalist and producer Anchorsong will be releasing a double single on October 25th, “Ghost Touch” and “Plum Rain.” Below we have the stream for “Plum Rain,” a mellow atmospheric electronic track with a pleasant xylophone – gotta love a xylophone.

Brooklyn based Sarah White dropped her Space Madness album today as a name-your-price download. The sound is a varied electro-soul and includes features from Nicholas Ryan Gant and Cecilia Stalin, amongst others. The mood shifts from rockish to spacey to 80′s ballad and on – the lady is versatile. Sarah’s voice soothes and provides the perfect ambient soundtrack to a quiet evening.

Video: The Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble – “Pretend” + Tour

Germany’s Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble will be releasing their debut album, Mr. Machine, next week as they also embark on a supporting North American tour. Today, the band premieres their gorgeously shot food fight video called “Pretend,” which is a reinterpretation an Emika song. The lovely guys are also throwing in a free download of the track that you can find below.

Be prepared to get blown away on next week’s release, which features a full 10-piece ensemble “fusing minimal techno with classical instrumentation.” Instruments include: violin, cello, harp, piano, trombone, tuba, timpani, marimba, vibraphone, drum set, various percussion and a Moog synthesizer. Amazing.
