We had to share this. Bay Area’s own Amp Live (of Zion I) has put out a fanciful 6-track EP called You Are Not Human (The Love EP). The producer takes the listener through a glitchy fusion of hip hop, electronic, and jazz.

The video above is for “Differ.e.n.t.” and it is as stunning as the refreshingly mystical track itself. Amp’s daydream shows a flowy ballerina swirling and dancing on a seemingly endless expanse of land during sunset. The movement of her hair and her garments coupled with the impeccable framing, play with light, and use of slow motion all make for a dazzling reverie and a disarming energy.

The World According to Jonesy Radio Show #31

Good friend and fellow Time Traveler, Jonesy, is always able to impress his listeners with an epic selection of cuts, from deep funk to cosmic soul classics. The track, “‘Tween the Lines,” by Noel Pointer is especially groovy – it has a George Benson “Breezin’” type feel, inter-sprinkled with funky vocoder melodies that make Daft Punk wish they had taken a lesson from Jonesy’s record collection.

New Release: Diplo & Oliver Twizt – ‘Go’ EP

Diplo has teamed up with Dutch producer Oliver Twizt to release their Go EP. The EP is based around the title track, “Go,” which features a focal loop that sounds like a drowned out 8-bit video game sample. One might parallel the sound to a tribal Atari-playing rave on an unnamed planet. Or something.

Take a listen to the original track below and grab the rest of the EP, which includes several remixes of the tune from folks like Kid Kaio, Swarms, and PeaceTreaty.

Video: Jogyo – “Rude Boy”

Jogyo is Sanskrit for “pure thoughts or stillness among action” – action is right. We are still vibrating from the awesome chaos that is Joygo’s “Rude Boy,” some sort of spellbinding electro dancehall dream.

Throw M.I.A., Santigold, and a little bit of fairy dust in a dirty basement party with some crappy speakers and maybe we could explain it. Love it.
