Raphael Saadiq – “Good Man” (New Single)

Following the video for his first single, “Radio,” another Raphael Saadiq track hit the web this week: “Good Man.” It would be near impossible to top his 2008 album The Way I See It, but these new ‘aggressive rock n roll’ style tracks are a good sign. Plus rumored featured guests on Saadiq’s Stone Rollin’ include Robert Randolph and Yukimi Nagano (Little Dragon). Stone Rollin’ will be released by Columbia Records on March 22nd.

Melanie Fiona blew us away with her critically acclaimed debut, The Bridge, and she’s determined to stay on top. She’s taking all the lessons she learned in the music world and moving full-steam ahead into her second album, due this summer on Universal/Motown Records, titled The MF Life. It’s a mighty fine life, it’s the motherfucking life, it’s the Melanie Fiona life.

The first single, “Gone and Never Coming Back” came out on January 11th and is available for download on iTunes.

Watch Part 1 of Mochilla’s new video series: Nas & Damien “Jr Gong” Marley go to The Bob Marley Museum on Hope Road in Jamaica. Mochilla enlisted the best possible videographer for this project: B+ (Stones Throw, Wax Poetics, Mochilla). Get more B+ art here.

It must have taken some strong Rastafarian medicine to get Nas’ permanent hip-hop scowl off his face, replaced by droopy eyes and laughter. Makes us wish we were smoking out with the Distant Relatives in Jamaica. In fact, we’re just going out to the roof for five minutes, be right back.
