Video: Santigold – “Disparate Youth”

So glad for the consistent dosage of Santi of late! About a week ago you got to tweak out to Santigold’s lyric video for “Disparate Youth” and it was quite the kooky occasion.

In the official video, Santigold wakes up to a snowy bedroom and then hops on her motorbike for a stroll in gorgeousland. The edit looks like a foggy disposable camera print, amplifying her fantasy of white powdered men. Holla!

Video: K’Naan – “Is Anybody Out There?” ft. Nelly Furtado

Last week you got your remix boogie on to K’Naan and Nelly Furtado’s “Is Anybody Out There?” and it was joyous. Today, you can take it to the next level with the video, which rounds out the story of two teenagers thick in their angst.

New Track: Cee-Lo – “All Alone Now” (Prod. by Waajeed)

[kml_flashembed movie="http://www.youtube.com/v/iipygwdsm8I" width="550" height="445" allowfullscreen="true" fvars="fs=1" /]

Our man Waajeed has just released a never heard before track with Cee-Lo Green! Called “All Alone Now,” the song was put together as a demo for Whitney Houston around 2007. Beautifully done, and the story makes it all the more poignant. Some more background from Waajeed himself:

The A&Rs at RCA were calling every and anybody to find a sound for her 2009 release, I Look To You. I worked on seven or eight different versions finally deciding on this one with additional parts from Simon Katz from Jamiroquai.

Lyrically, Cee-Lo nailed it! At the time she was going though her very public separation with Bobby Brown. He wrote the words as if she was speaking directly to him.

I wish I would’ve been able to hear her wonderful voice singing these words, but for now Cee-Lo will do.

R.I.P. Whitney
