Son of jazz saxophonist David Murray, NYC native producer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist Mingus Murray oozes with personality. The fresh talent pulls from old and new to create a progressive and profusely funky electro rock-n-soul sound hitting notes of Prince, Lenny Kravitz, and Meshell Ndegeocello, to name a few. Yet still, so much of Murray's 8-track debut album is pure raw energy that doesn't quite have a name - Mingus is something entirely its own.

This week, the lead single from Mingus, "Ju$t The One For Me," comes with a video. The addictive hair-swingable track is complemented with bright colors, sweaty females, and basement grit. No complaints here.
