Video: Children of the Night – “Kids From Queens”

Lansky Jones, Remy Banks, and Nasty Nigel of hip hop trio Children of the Night yesterday released their new video for their magnetic “Kids From Queens” track.

With a sound seeming to pay homage to old school hip hop sounds, these young lads have already received approval from industry veterans like Ski Beatz and Large Professor. The black and white video depicts almost a home video or documentary style video of Queens living – kind of all has a Nas vibe to it in parts. This one’s a no brainer, y’all.

K’Naan keeps it pretty damn real on “Hurt Me Tomorrow” – we must say. Lightweight coldblooded. But homie got ish to do, nahmean? It is what it is and stuff.

And the video – bizarre, but certainly entertaining. Humping stuffed animal puppets. That’s all we have to say.

Look out for Country, God or The Girl to drop in July 2012.

New Release: Melody Gardot – ‘The Absence’

The Grammy-nominated Melody Gardot has just released her Latin spirited jazz, blues, and soul album, The Absence. Pulling influence from Morocco to Lisbon to Brazil to Buenos Aires, the album is rich in sound and culture.

Here most recent video is for “Mira,” which you find below. The track starts off with a soulful murmur and scatting that whisks us into a nostalgic bliss of some our favorite Amel Larrieux tunes. An easy summer scape to the tropics is as close as hitting play on this flirtatious and sunny track – we’ll take it, gladly!

For those itching for a physical copy, cruise to your nearest Starbucks for a double fix!

This Danny Brown “Grown Up” song and video are the truth! In signature stick to your rib flow, a miniature Danny tells the story of how he busted his teeth and his grown up dreams. Why is this kid actor so incredibly on point, though? Can we take him home?! Eesh.
