New Track: Giovanni James – “Shining”

Harlem based singer Giovanni James (previously known as Jelly Jells) has just released a new single to go with his new moniker.

When you listen to “Shining,” think a cross between Van Hunt and old Nelly Furtado – that’s right around where we’d place it – and whatever that is, is pretty freaking catchy.

The track is part of the upcoming Ponyboy’s Gold EP.

Video: Alice Russell – “I’ll Keep My Light In My Window”

The wondrous and always dynamic Alice Russell joins the good folks at Yours Truly for a stripped down performance of “I’ll Keep My Light In My Window.” Loving the super bad violin action by Mike Simmonds here.

As many of y’all probably already know, the track is off of Alice and Quantic’s collaborative album, Look Around The Corner.

How about that voice, people? Carries all by itself. We’ll take that scarf of Alice’s, too, please.

Sir Def Sound is back with a new video featuring the awesome Nikko Gray and production by the wicked Brook D’Leau of J*Davey. The dissonant, lilting tune is a boozy mash of swirling sounds and is served up in a room of black and white eye-centric photographs.

Def’s upcoming project, △nything: thee.idea.machine., to drop soon!
