Earlier this year we shared with you the long-time-coming release of Nobody Can Live Forever: The Existential Soul of Tim Maia as well as a mini-documentary on the curious life of the Brazilian musical legend Tim Maia.

Today we've got a charming animated short film narrated by Devendra Banhart to further give you a peek into this brilliant man's world. As per IFC.com, the film is a product of stories collected from "old band members and friends, label personnel and various journalists in Brazil and America." You'll also get a peek into Maia's trailblazing musical fusions, which introduced soul, funk, and disco to Brazilian music such as samba, baião, and xaxado.
