Video: Avan Lava – “It’s Never Over” (Live)

Brooklyn based band Avan Lava is way too much fun. After watching “It’s Never Over,” you’re going to know exactly what we mean. This ish is contagious. And who are these people anyway? Remember the Blue Man Group? Well yeah, that’s part of it – sort of.

Singer TC (Tom Hennes) and producers Le Chev (Narcisse, Fischerspooner) and Ian Pai (Blue Man Group, Fischerspooner) are no newbies at getting the eff down. Birthed during an overnight bus ride in Brazil, Avan Lava’s music is a tasteful mash of R&B, electronic, and indie in the most desirable way.

New Track: Nicholas Ryan Gant – “Cereal Love”

Our boy Nicholas Ryan Gant is one pretty darn rad vocalist – slept on highly, in fact. What we also love about this dude is his lightheartedness and willingness to just have have some fun. And his appreciation for food. Ok, we’re done.

What’s happened here is that homeboy took Aaliyah’s “One In A Million” and flipped it just a tad to share with us the boundless depths of joy that is “Cereal Love.” Act like you don’t just adore it. Try.

Late last week, Philadelphia hip hop duo Chiddy Bang released their “Ray Charles” video featuring a makeshift bachelor pad (in someone’s mama’s house) juxtaposed against a swanky retro jam. And there’s, um, a church party like we’ve never seen. Shake it but don’t break it, y’all.

Look out for their full length debut, Breakfast, out February 28th.

Video: Jesse Boykins III – “Zoner”

[kml_flashembed movie="http://www.youtube.com/v/rDUrW2EROL4" width="550" height="445" allowfullscreen="true" fvars="fs=1" /]

Jesse Boykins III kicks up the sensuality a couple notches (if that’s even possible) in his new video for “Zoner.” A song of masked selves and carefully calculated detachment, Jesse fears his love will “catch” him being himself and reject him.

The softly sung tune is complemented with its same moody dreaminess in visual form; glimpses of skin and forlorn expressions amidst dim blue lights and “double exposure” haze whirl the viewer into his or her own wistful flurry.
