Video: Jose James – “Trouble” (Live on Letterman) + NPR Stream of ‘No Beginning No End’

Jose James yesterday performed on Letterman and released an NPR stream for his upcoming album on Blue Note Records called No Beginning No End. Those listening will find the music low key, approachable, and sensual per usual. Jose also adds about his approach this time:

“I don’t want to be confined to any particular style. I decided I didn’t want to be considered a jazz singer anymore and that was really freeing. Once I realized that jazz singing is just something that I do and it’s just a label, it freed me as an artist to just write without any boundaries.”

The Letterman performance featured a lively band and an energetic James ready to reach listeners with a unique fervor and buoyancy. That man was happy as hell to be on stage – and we were honored to watch.

No Beginning No End drops on January 22. And on January 23, be sure to catch Jose at his album release show on in NYC that kicks off his tour!

New Track: Justin Timberlake – “Suit & Tie” ft. Jay-Z + Ryan Leslie Remix

Justin Timberlake last week gave us a teaser foreshadowing his upcoming album that he’s now revealed to be named The 20/20 Experience. He’s now also released the first single called “Suit & Tie.” The upbeat Timbaland produced track features none other than Jay-Z. Along with it has already come a remix by sir Ryan Leslie, which you can also hear below. Not surprisingly, this first release is on the more glossy side of his repertoire, we’d say.

New Remix: Frank Ocean – “Pink Matter” ft. Outkast

One of our favorite Frank Ocean tracks from Channel Orange gets the Outkast remix treatment. In addition to Andre 3000′s oft quoted verse on “Pink Matter,” Big Boi adds his own saucy contribution also on some tantalizing fast-rap steez. Hit play below and get caught up.

Video: iET – “Stay” (Save Me) ft. Szjerdene

A little speechless after hearing this live acoustic. Dutch singer/songwriter iET paired up with one of our favorite newer voices Szjerdene for her new single “Stay” (Save Me). There is not one time we can listen to Szjerdene’s voice and not get shivers all through our body. iET’s rich and warm vocals are similarly impactful, cocooning around you and providing comfort on a cold day. Gorgeous minimal folky track all around.
