Jack Splash

One of the most important artist/producers of the 21st Century, Jack Splash's ability to cleanly produce and mix genres has impressed the likes of Missy Elliot, Alicia Keys, R Kelly, Mos Def, Nas, Rick Rubin, Shakira and many more. As an artist and producer, Jack has had one hell of a wild ride these last five years. After a massively successful debut 12-inch single release ("The Last Song"), by his band PlantLife, the group's album The Return of Jack Splash (2004) won the prize for "Album of the Year" at Gilles Peterson's BBC Radio 1 Awards and received an outpour of critical acclaim across the globe. On his return from touring worldwide with Plantlife, Jack's tracks began popping up everywhere. One of the songs he produced for Alicia Keys ("Teenage Love Affair") became a top 10 radio hit, and songs he produced for Estelle and Solange ("Pretty Please" and "T.O.N.Y.," respectively) blew up as singles and critical favorites. Immediately following, a track he produced for Jennifer Hudson ("All Dressed Up In Love") was locked down as the end title for the Sex and the City movie. Jack also branched out and collaborated with international pop luminaries such as Katy Perry (co-writing on Jack Splash's song "Love not War"), R Kelly, Amanda Ghost, and SIA. As if all that momentum weren't enough, Jack's collaboration with Jennifer Hudson, Missy Elliott, Fantasia and Jazmine Sullivan for Hudson's "I'm His Only Woman" garnered him a 2009 Grammy nomination. Jack also became a Grammy Award-winning producer for music on Jennifer Hudson's 2009 self-titled debut, which won for Best R&B Album, and Jack was again nominated in 2010 for Best R&B album for his work with Anthony Hamilton.

After all the excitement of producing electro-pop dance smashes and lush, organic soul ballads for others, Jack felt the pull to get back to his own music. So it was in a dream that he came up with the concept for Technology and Love Might Save Us All, both a short animated film (starring Cee-Lo Green, Janelle Monae and Lupe Fiasco) and his first solo studio album (coming Summer 2010 on J Records). With appearances by Missy Elliott, Lupe Fiasco, Kelis, R Kelly, T-Pain, Solange and many more, Jack's debut LP has the entire music scene on pins and needles.
