RaVaughn

biography

Discovering her love for music at the prime age of four years old, RaVaughn began her solo performances in her parent’s living room for an audience of two but soon was cast in her first leading role in the musical “Annie.” It was on that stage her keen ear for music was discovered, subsequently leading to piano lessons, enhancing her overall understanding of music and her ability to harmonize.

At the age of nine, RaVaughn joined Amazing Grace Conservatory (AGC) in her hometown Los Angeles to study under the direction of some the entertainment greats. While a student at AGC, RaVaughn developed a work ethic that would astound her peers and render her instructors speechless. She found that her hard work landed her in such roles as Dorothy in "The Wiz," Rizzo in "Grease," and Doris in "FAME,” to name a mere few.

As she continued her journey her talent was noticeably widespread, as she amassed guest star appearances in several television shows, as well as voice-over work in various movies. Despite the aforementioned accomplishments in tow, the enthused and ambitious 16 year-old decided to make New York the next stop on her path. While there, RaVaughn graced the world-famous stage at "Showtime at the Apollo" where she won twice and performed in the finals. It was merely a matter of time before she captured the attention of some of today’s hitmakers, including Ryan Tedder, Diane Warren, Rodney Jerkins and Rico Love. Soon after, the aspiring songstress secured a spot as Brandy’s background touring vocalist and before long, she was lending her vocals to the runaway smash GLEE.

Fast forward to the spring of 2011, where a chance meeting with NE-YO catapulted RaVaughn to a new dimension that included a record contract with Compound University and Columbia Records. With the stars newly aligned, the stunning young artist is setting the tone for her debut album, collaborating with many musical tycoons that include Jerry Wonda, Marsha Ambrosius, Babyface, The Dream and Stargate, and so many more. Meanwhile, RaVaughn has lent her vocal prowess to a track by DJ Fresh, “Feeling,” which was recently released in the UK.
