New Release: J Biscuits – ‘Quests’ EP + Download

    January 9th, 2012

Suckers we are for some good instrumentals. UK producer J Biscuits put out a winsome EP called Quests this past December that we just can’t stop playing.

The eastern influences added to this mellow set of electronic hip hop beats are super appreciated. Yes, there’s a sitar in the mix, a little bit of freakage of what sounds like a traditional old school Bollywood tune, and a sample of some classic east Indian vocals. This makes us just a little weak.

Please do enjoy as thoroughly as we are – it has somehow, generously been made a free download. And also thank our pals over at Potholes In My Blog for sharing!

Below is an incredible free download from the debut project called “Far.” The intro lasts just under two minutes, so make sure you don’t miss these guys really getting down.

New Release: Trackademicks – ‘Cherry 2000′

    January 5th, 2012

The Bay Area king of electronic slaps himself, Trackademicks, is in the building and has got something a little different for us this time. The producer is known for production that’s summery, breezy, and always danceable.

On Cherry 2000, the vibe is still electronic, still that incomparable melange of hip hop and synthy 80’s vibes – but this time our pal has slowed it down. What results is some serious sexy time music that you’ve been warned you should only play with the highest of intentions. Ahem.

    January 5th, 2012

Drummer and producer Daru teams up was the alluring iSHE to create “Come Close,” a sexy tune dripping of ‘milk and honey.’ iSHE’s vocal style takes a nostalgic, tantalizing trip to that classic neo-soul so many of us grew to love. We’re still tingling.

New Release: Blu & Exile – ‘Give Me My Flowers While I Can Smell Them’

    December 21st, 2011

Uh, what? It was only a month or two we were talking to some pals who were saying we were tough out of luck if we were to expect this duo to ever release a project together again. Not to take all the credit or whatever, but we think we had something to do with this.

Los Angeles contingent Blu & Exile are back, y’all. Curse word. Exile continues to habitually pour out his dreamy chopped beats while Blu makes his easy buttery rhymes wrap around you like a cinnamon roll. What?

Give Me My Flowers While I Can Smell Them. Just listen and get this ish now, please.
