Afrolicious dropped their debut EP, A Dub For Mali, yesterday and it promises to satisfy many musical palettes with its afro-beat, disco, reggae, and Malian blues sensibilities, to name a few. This EP has a wonderfully chill energy that's easily repeat worthy.

Produced by Rob Garza of Thievery Corporation, the EP is an inspired work, paying homage to the sounds cultivated at San Francisco's weekly Afrolicious party hosted by Joe McGuire (aka Pleasuremaker), who also comprises Afrolicious.

3rd 1st Impression is about taking a "first" look again, but from a brand new light, away from a wider known persona.

This collaborative mixtape features drummer Chris 'Daddy' Dave on production and Stimulus, known to most as a DJ, as an emcee. Out as a free download on September 12th, the mixtape will feature guest spots from Bilal, Renee Neufville, Stokley (of Mint Condition), Casey Benjamin and Screechy Dan. And yes, mister Dave handles all the production and Stimulus is indeed on lead rappity rap duty.

The first single from the project, "Full Grown," dropped last week and it's pretty rad. Featuring Bilal and Renee Neufville on guest vocals, Chris Dave and Stimulus seem to have banged out a solid track like it was nothing. If this is the mixtape, we're going to need to know what an album sounds like, please.

Our Friends over at RCRD LBL are offering a free download of Lotus' new track, "The Surf" off of their upcoming self-titled album dropping September 13. The download comes on the same day that Lotus hits the stage at the Bay Area's Outside Lands Festival.

Lotus has become a staple on the festival circuit from Bonnaroo to Ultra Music Fest. Their next festival appearance is September 2nd, at the North Coast Music Festival in Chicago.
