“Let’s Go Out Tonight” has a backing of funk guitar, horns, and a rolling drumbeat behind Yvette Rovira’s powerful vocals, creating the upbeat dance tune of the album that will start off any night with a burst of energy. The track is a musical and emotional contrast to the rest of the album, which draws on heartfelt, poignant lyrics dealing with love, ambition and social responsibility.
You've got GP! Out of Brownswood, North London, Gilles takes us back to the roots of dance music with breaks like the Jimmy Castor Bunch's "It's Just Begun." His classic-funk mix brought on a slew of listener requests, and Gilles is happy to oblige. Later Gilles is joined by the original, mighty Mala, who is declared the "Godfather of Dubstep". The man behind Deep Medi Records is in the mix and in conversation.
We've had an eye out for Chiddy Bang since we heard a bit of their upcoming album, The Opposite of Adults, and their fun video of the title track. This video "Sooner or Later" has a much heavier tone, shot entirely from the first person view of Chiddy, live in Nigeria. The message of this video calls for the Nigerian government to take responsibility for the poverty levels and the accompanying problems in the country ... sooner or later.

After years of almost total silence from Lauryn Hill, she finally opened up to NPR about her music, why she left the game, and where she's headed next. While her classic solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was groundbreaking in part because of her unique ability to sing over hooks she also rapped, she's focusing now on "opening up [her] range, really sing more." According to Lauryn, "Most people have never really heard me 'sing sing sing'... if I do record again, next time perhaps it will be in an expanded context." And for those have been missing Ms. Hill's voice, she's starting to perform again, including the Rock the Bells tour this summer. She told NPR, "I think it's just time [to perform more], I'm starting to get excited again."
