Plan B Remixes by Breakage, Pendulum, Danny Byrd and Doctor P

Raised in Forest Gate, London, Ben Drew aka Plan B‘s album, The Defamation of Strickland Banks (out in the US on April 12), debuted at #1 on the UK album charts and hasn’t left the Top 10 since its release. Influenced highly by his love of classic Motown and his appreciation for Eminem, actor and musician Plan B raps and sings in his own accent on “Prayin’,” “Stay Too Long,” and “Love Goes Down.” Now he’s released remixes of these songs by Breakage, Pendulum, Danny Byrd and Doctor P.

Lefto & Simbad Present Worldwide Family Volume 1 Teasers

Brownswood Recordings is a clear leader in the art of compilation releases. Besides the fact that the music is often hand-picked by Gilles Peterson, Brownswood compilations have a greater purpose than to rehash old hits; they bring quality music to light, music that might otherwise be overlooked.

Gilles isn’t the only DJ on a world mission to find the perfect beat, and he’s trusted the Brownswood family DJs Lefto & Simbad to start a new series for the Worldwide Family. Enjoy these teasers from both DJs and check the tracklistings after the jump.

Look out for Lefto & Simbad Present Worldwide Family Volume 1 in early 2011.

The Wonderful Sound of Induce: “Her & I” + MP3

The Miami DJ, Induce, unleashes his previously hidden vocal skills on his new single, “Her & I”.  Induce has been known for his left field hip hop and instrumental music, so the single, which is first off his album, Halfway Between Me & You, is a move in a different direction.  The single, like much of the album, is punchy and soulful, with a carefree dance tune and passionate vocals.  On the album, Induce is joined by Manuvers, Mr. Familiar, and Jack Splash.

Induce‘s upcoming album, Halfway Between You and Me is due out April 2011.
