J Rocc (of The Beat Junkies fame and Stones Throw family) is dropping hot mixes all over, which is nothing new, but now it’s all about his new album Some Cold Rock Stuf. Above is a great video for “Stay Fresh,” shot by Mayer Hawthorne on his iPhone and edited on the flight back to LA. (budget? what’s a budget?) Below, grab another track from the album for download, “Play This Too” and check out J Rocc’s special with Benji B on BBC’s Radio1.

And if you’re the kinda fan that loves rare merch, check here to get even more J Rocc goodies, including ‘mystery discs’ and posters of the artwork by Jeff Jank, the artist responsible for the indie hip-hop label’s distinctive look.

Jessie J’s New Release: Who You Are + “Nobody’s Perfect (Netsky Remix)”

Jessie J‘s album Who You Are was released on Universal Republic this week, and unsurprisingly it rose to the top of the charts. You may already know that we jumped on the Jessie wagon early and we’re proud; see The Boombox Series Part 1 – “Who You Are” and Part 2 – “Price Tag”. A few days after we shot The Boombox Series with Arcade 44, her video for “Do It Like A Dude” came out and she blew up. By popular demand, her release date was moved up to this week. Stomp stomp she arrived!

Sade New Song – “Love is Found”

More greatness from Sade already as another new song from her forthcoming Ultimate Collection. First we got her cover of Thin Lizzy’s “Still in Love With You” then last week we heard a Jay-Z remix of “The Moon and The Sky.” This one brings a surprisingly dark heavy production, maybe a better kind of urban crossover.

Sade Remix ft. Jay-Z – “The Moon And The Sky”

When we heard about Sade‘s forthcoming compilation The Ultimate Collection, we drooled over the mere thought of a Jay-Z remix. To our surprise, Jay went and posted it up on his new blog today. Check the stream for “The Moon And The Sky” below, a wonderful Friday send-off. And there’s much more to come: The Ultimate Collection includes more brand new tracks, and Sade will be on tour with John Legend this summer.
