Blaqstarr Remixes & SXSW Performances

It’s that time of year. Austin is heating up with big plans for SXSW 2011. Blaqstarr is one of the talented new artists out to showcase his skills – you can catch him at any of the performances listed below. Blaqstarr also just released some remixes of “Rider Girl,” a track from his new Divine EP. The single gets a full remix treatment from Sydney Samson, Mux Mool, Nadastrom and Blaqstarr himself. The remixes shine a different kind of light on Blaqstarr’s voice, giving new life to the single. “Rider Girl” also came with a great video; watch it here.

DJ Center – Remix by DJ Spinna + Making Of The Vinyl

Brooklyn’s own DJ Center hooked up with DJ Spinna to remix “In A Song” featuring Middle Child, a track off the album Everything In Time. With an anthem-like chorus and thumping groove, “In A Song” is packed with bump and boogie, warmth and soul – a natural choice for DJs, dance floors and lovers of modern soul music with an instant vintage feel. DJ Spinna needs no introduction, and he adds his own style to the track here in the “Back from the Future Remix.”

After the jump, watch a video about the making of the remix. Thanks to Push the Fader, who has a new blog up and running, so check that out too!

Adele “Rolling in the Deep” Remix by Jamie XX

Jamie XX, whose remix of Gil Scott-Heron‘s “New York is Killing Me” quickly became a GPWW favorite, continues to make waves. His remix of Adele’s beautiful single “Rolling In the Deep” is truly out there. It’s stripped and distorted, but somehow doesn’t lose any momentum.
