Swedish House Mafia To Auction Tickets for their ‘Black Tie Rave’

Having already raised nearly half a million dollars for charity, including the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City and the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund, Swedish House Mafia has announced a second round to their charity auction efforts.

Tickets to their highly anticipated Black Tie Rave on February 28 at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom are the subjects of the auction, which begins on February 1 at 10am EST at Ticketmaster. This auction will benefit Save The Children, which is committing itself to join the national dialogue on gun control in the wake of December’s tragedy in Newton, Connecticut. More precisely:

Save The Children’s goal is to use their experience in advocacy, their seven decades of serving poor and vulnerable children in the U.S., and their commitment to children’s protection and rights to inform and influence both the dialogue and the policies that will emerge as the nation addresses issues that have a direct impact on the safety, security and well-being of its citizens—especially children.

Bids begin at $100.00 per ticket with a minimum purchase of 2 tickets and maximum of 4 tickets.

Get involved for some great causes and cop some tickets for an amazing event in the same breath! The first auction sold out quickly, so be sure to set your calendars and timers and what not – missing out is no fun.

Video: Bonobo – “Cirrus” + New Album ‘The North Borders’ & Tour in April

Oh, man. Bonobo is back and has got our britches in a bunch with anticipation now. Today he released a new video for “Cirrus,” the first single off his upcoming album, The North Borders. The ambient tune continues on the same theme of his previous music – fantastical, atmospheric, jungly, tribal electronic music with a soulful flourish. The video is a quirky semi-animation with a circa 1940s flair.

The North Borders is out April 1. A tour will kick off on April 10 and span several US cities – catch those after the jump.

Rudimental – UK Chart-Toppers Bring the “Love” to US

A new musical force has hit the scene and they’re called Rudimental. Showcasing a catalog that spans drum and bass, soul, garage, jungle and house, the UK chart-toppers are lapping their peers with their ridiculous versatility. Their lead single, “Feel The Love” featuring John Newman blew up at #1 in the UK and was named iTunes’ Dance Song of the Year – watch the accompanying beautiful wintery video above. What you know about some horse racing in city streets?!

At the end of last year, the group also released their video for “Not Giving In,” which also features John Newman along with Alex Clare. The music moves through moods and tempos, keeping the listening experience interesting and engaging; the high adrenaline overtone carries welcome elements of soul and pop, creating a highly palatable sound for a universal appeal. And once again, the neighborhood centric storytelling and cinematography for the video is brilliant – find it after the jump.

“Hell Could Freeze” is yet another recent-ish single for the sampling and features Angel Haze. For those of you we’ve now got hooked, the good news is that this one is a free download on the Rudimental website.

After the jump, find the group live in session with their super soulful tune, “Baby.”

Look out for an album sometime this spring! Also, the group today announced a string of US tour dates (find below) that include appearances at Ultra Music Festival (Miami), SXSW (Austin), as well as stops in NYC, San Francisco, and LA.
