New Release: ZZ Ward – ‘Til The Casket Drops’

LA based and Oregon bred bluesy singer/songwriter ZZ Ward today dropped her new album, Til The Casket Drops, which features a mouthwatering stable of collaborators. Production from Ryan Tedder, Pete Rock, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and Fitz (Fitz and the and Tantrums), amongst others, make this a diverse and highly palatable project. And that voice coming out of that little lady – what?!

Blend in blues with a little rap, why not? Some of the feature guests include Kendrick Lamar and Freddie Gibbs who handle all that quite splendidly.

Video: Lee Fields – “Faithful Man”

[kml_flashembed movie="http://www.youtube.com/v/6MdsywxNXgU" width="550" height="445" allowfullscreen="true" fvars="fs=1" /]

Lee Fields finds himself in conflict when he comes across a cunning lady that tempts him to change his “Faithful Man” ways. Taking place in a nightclub, the video shows what goes on behind the shadows. A fervent Lee takes the stage pleading to keep him from ‘doing wrong.’ This song is soul to the highest degree.

With the video also comes the release of a limited edition 7″ for all the vinyl lovers out there.

New Track: Ayah – “Live The Life”

Oh em gee, squeeeaaalll! Love love love this new track by our gal Ayah. Taking us back to that true blue 90s R&B, giving us some Zhané vibes. Listen to “Live The Life” below and then join us in the incessant repeating spree. To note, Ayah recorded this back in 2007 but seemingly felt inspired to dig out and share something from the vaults – so awesome when artists decided to do that!

Video: MS MR – “Ash Tree Lane”

Perhaps you remember MS MR from their enrapturing “Hurricane” track we posted a while back. This new video is for “Ash Tree Lane,” that starts its first minute out with vintage horror visuals and narration, with the song hitting around the 1:03 mark. The lead vocalist’s voice at time reminds us of Florence Welch. Digging the vibes.

Their Candy Bar Creep Show EP is also now out! Each track on the EP has a distinctly different feel, too. Revel in the haze.
