The London trio Noisettes' full length album Wild Young Hearts was released in the US today on Mercury Records. From the stomping electro-rock of "Saturday Night" and galloping funk grooves of "Don't Upset The Rhythm," to the glorious '60s-tinged soul of "Never Forget You," Noisettes have made what is set to be one of 2009's most adventurous albums. "Wild Young Hearts - it's about feeling and acting young, whatever your age," says guitarist Dan Smith. "It's about having fun and not following the pack.
Following "From My Heart To Yours", check out Laura Izibor's second single "Don't Stay", off her album Let the Truth Be Told.
This Saturday night, September 19th, Lupe Fiasco performs at Governor's Island. Possessing head-spinning wordplay and a topical range more akin to the underground than the mainstream, the 25-year-old lyricist has proven that talent can still make waves in the rap game. Urbanus, the new release by vibraphonist-composer Stefon Harris, signifies his 7th album as a band leader and his Concord Records debut. The new album picks up where 2004’s Evolution left off in that it features Blackout, his scintillating ensemble that’s as versed in modern jazz as it is with rhythms, melodies and soundscapes associated with R&B, pop, hip-hop and funk.
For this video, "Gone", they've organized a video remix contest: Contestants can download artwork, music and video to remix, then upload it to Stefon's YouTube group. Stefon Harris and Stacey Robinson, the original designer, will choose the winner.
