The Official Giant Step SummerStage After Party At Afrokinetic's Carmina Soul Fe
Saturday, July 18
The Old American Can Factory, Brooklyn New York
This year Giant Step and Afrokinetic present the official Giant Step SummerStage after party at Carmina Soul, featuring NZ-Japanese musician/producer Mark De Clive-Lowe, alongside residents DJ Chris Annibell and percussionist Amon. Part 4 of this 7 part series, Carmina Soul returns outdoors in the courtyard at The Old American Can Factory.
Known around the world as a devastating live performer, Mark De Clive-Lowe creates studio productions and remixes on stage from scratch, using drum machines, keyboards and effects in real-time. Accompanied by a host of surprise singers and musicians, his show is nothing less than inspirational. As well as performances at clubs, festivals and parties worldwide, he's recorded over 200 releases for Masters At Work, Verve and Impulse Records, collaborating with artists as diverse as Jody Watley, Omar, Bugz in the Attic, Dego (4Hero), percussionist Sammy Figueroa (Miles Davis), bass player Pino Palladino (D'Angelo/John Mayer), DJ Spinna, Leon Ware, Dame Shirley Bassey and the list goes on. MdCL is one of the most innovative producers and live performers you'll find anywhere.
Rounding out the bill is Brooklyn's own DJ OP!. A purveyor of all things soulful, from hip hop, house, classics to future soul, OP! can finesse and forge a beautifully cohesive vibe.
Together, they will infuse Brooklyn's dance community with West London Broken Beats, Latin Grooves, Global House, Philly Soul, Jazz and African Polyrhythms for a night that honors the cultural landscape of Gowanus, Brooklyn and transcends the confines of traditional clubs.
Celebrate the return of sun-filled days and honey moon nights at the official Giant Step SummerStage after party.
