SummerStage with Passenger, Liam Bailey & More
One of the highlights on Giant Step's calendar is our annual Central Park SummerStage show. Over the years, we have had the distinct honor to showcase artists like Little Dragon, Raphael Saadiq, Hiatus Kaiyote, Janelle Monae, Aloe Blacc, Fitz and The Tantrums, and Shuggie Otis to name a few. This year, we are happy to present on August 10th some very talented artists that focus more on singer/songwriting with plenty of folk/rock and soul thrown in. The headliner is Passenger who is from Brighton in the UK and went to Australia to make a name for himself. His latest album, Whispers, was released in June, with the lead single being the beautiful and melancholy "Heart's On Fire". Also on the bill is Liam Bailey, an artist I've been raving about for a number of years. Hailing from the UK, Liam was originally signed to Amy Winehouse's Lioness Records. He has a soul, rock reggae, and blues influenced vocal style and has been compared to Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Bill Withers, Bob Marley, and Dennis Brown. His new album, Definitely NOW, drops August 19th and includes the track "On My Mind." Our opener is Australia's Stu Larsen who is another amazing up-and-coming singer/songwriter. He just released the album Vagabond featuring the track "Thirteen Sad Farewells." The bill is rounded out by New York's ">Natasha Diggs of Mobile Mondays and Offline fame. She's a DJ that loves playing old soul 45s and knows how to get the party started and get it moving.
