    Alice Russell Takes NYC to Church at May 12 Le Poisson Rouge Show

    Returning to perform in NYC after four years, Alice Russell did no less than take the house down at her recent Le Poisson Rouge show. The anticipation and excitement was palpable with an audience that was more than ready to receive the spiritual experience to come.

    Taking the stage with a 4-piece band, Alice performed with characteristic passion and vigor. Her compelling blend of blues, soul, funk, gospel, and jazz was showcased impeccably with her performance of her latest album, To Dust . And that James Blake "Retrograde" cover was all kinds of amazing. Watch a clip of Alice performing "Got The Hunger" above.
