    Lizz Fields is re-PRODUCED

    November 23rd, 2009

In 2003, Lizz Fields emerged with her instant indie classic album, By Day By Night. In 2008, Lizz carved her musical space with PleasureVille on Blue Fields Records. She embraced the grit and the grind, a stylistic fete that grows with each listen. Full speed ahead, Lizz Fields transmits another beautifully crafted message in her unexpected remix album, re-PRODUCED. Originally deemed a side project, re-PRODUCED was created by Lizz Fields and partner, Tristan Leral, co-piloting the boards and the mic.

Nneka Gives a Firey Debut Taking LA By Storm

    November 20th, 2009

The much anticipated Los Angeles debut of Singer/Songwriter Nneka last Wednesday Nov. 18 at the SkyBar as part of the Svedka Vodka Sessions series, was everything hoped for and then some. The Sultry vocals of the Nigerian born singer was only enhanced by the strong message she communicated to the dazzled crowds. Helping warm up the crowd on that windy night was the masterful spinning of LA's own DJ Vikter Duplaix.

It was a high profile night covered by many, including Blogger Yaz Jenkins. For more photos and info you can check out her blog Pop!A-Razzi

“International” – New Live Version from Baaba Maal

    November 20th, 2009

pic1_smBaaba Maal's Television (Palm, 2009) brought a subtle blend of electronic dance elements and timeless traditions of West African music, much as the result of collaboration with New York's Brazilian Girls, co-producers of the album.

While on his current world tour, Baaba's song "International" became a crowd favorite as it evolved with new layers and instrumentation. This extended version deviates from the original with its prominent horn section and added rhythms, yet it maintains the high quality of a studio recording.
