release description

Tracey Thorn, the voice of Everything But The Girl, shines on her single "It's All True," remixed by Martin Buttrich, Kris Menace, and the production team of Darshan Jesrani, Sasse Lindbald and Ewan Pearson.

As the singer and co-songwriter of Everything But The Girl, Tracey Thorn is one of the most recognized voices in music. She's responsible for over 2.5 million albums sold in the US, including a Gold record, the number #1 hit single "Missing," as well as vocal work on Massive Attack's biggest hit "Protection," on Deep Dish's "The Future Of The Future," and on Tiefschwarz's 2007 Grammy nominated "Damage." In 2000, after her long running career in Everything But The Girl, and shortly after the birth of her first of the three children with her Everything But The Girl co-member and life partner Ben Watt, Tracey Thorn left recording to raise her family and didn't sing a note for five years. But by 2005 she found herself writing again, and a chance guest appearance on uber-hip German electro duo Tiefschwarz's album Eat Books whetted an appetite to write more and return to the studio. With Ben involved with his own DJ career and his Buzzin' Fly label, and their mutual agreement to put Everything But The Girl on long-term hiatus, Tracy chose to go it alone. She handpicked some of the most future-facing and imaginative dance music producers to help her fully realize her stunning new album Out Of The Woods, featuring the highlight track "It's All True."

The uptempo house instrumental remix "DSE Dub" comes courtesy of the "It's All True" co-writing and production team of Darshan Jesrani, Sasse Lindbald and Ewan Pearson, whose peerless track record in contemporary club land has led from his early work for leading techno label, Soma, to his current status of remixer-du-jour for Goldfrapp, Pet Shop Boys, Nelly Furtado, and The Chemical Brothers. The trio also turn in the "Escort Extended Remix," a glistening, deep house remake that works both on the main floor as well as the chillout lounge. Meanwhile, the Kris Menace and Martin Buttrich remixes energize "It's All True" with primetime dance floor momentum.
