release description

This edition of the Scion A/V Remix Project features VICE Records getting the remix treatment. Vice Record's fast and heavy Panthers have their track "Goblin City" remixed for the clubs by Holy Ghost!, featuring members of The Juan Maclean in a co-production with DFA. This track is a guaranteed to make the black chucks fly off those hipsters feet.

Holy Ghost! is a product of Nicholas Millhiser and Alexander Frankel's obsession with analog synthesizers, rare disco, and ancient production techniques. It is a co-production with DFA and a real family affair. The first single is "Hold On," a thumping disco trot that recalls a smoother and more mysterious time. Panthers have returned from the sprawling highs of their 2004 LP Things Are Strange with a record so intense it demands attention from all areas, from jaded riff-rock devotees to the most indifferent pop listener and everyone in between. Recorded in 2006 by renowned producer and engineer Steve Revitte (Liars, Beastie Boys, Black Dice), The Trick is the third full length offering from this Brooklyn-based quartet and their second on Vice. Panthers are going for the jugular!

VICE Records began in 2002 and is home to Bloc Party, The Streets, Boredoms, Justice, The Black Lips, Ed Banger Records, Charlotte Gainsbourg, The Stills, Chromeo, Panthers, 120 Days, and Favourite Sons.
