release description

Rob Symeonn, the Spark Igniter, is back with a new 12-inch collection of remixes from his acclaimed 2006 album, The Chosen One. The album's title track (produced by Ticklah) solidified Rob Symeonn's status as one of the great roots reggae voices of our time. "The Chosen One" received airplay in NYC from Bobby Konders and Jabba on Hot 97 and Dahved Levy's Caribbean Fever on WBLS 107.5 as well as countless other stations around the globe. Featured remixer Zeb's (Turntables On The Hudson / Giant Step) gypsy roots and international travels as a DJ/producer have imparted his mixes with a unique modern dub style that's one part euro dance-floor party and one part Kingston dancehall. His remix of "The Chosen One" is destined to be a club and compilation favorite. Southwest England's Biggabush's (Stereo Deluxe) bass-heavy Dubsteppers version merges elements of underground UK sounds with classic roots styles, taking "The Chosen One" deep in the 21st century of experimental dub. Vienna's Shanti Roots (Viennna Scientist) takes a European-electronic approach to "Message in The Music," bringing a heavy four-on-the-floor beat with an abstract club touch and broken-beat influence. And NY Percussionist Amon (Afrokinetic/ Turntables on The Hudson) brings a modern afro-latin flavor to the release with his outstanding, almost electronic mambo version of "No More" -- this Mix is surely ripe for sunset soires the world over.
