    release description

Following the success of the bands first release Nueva Musica (Billboard #1, Grammy Nomination for remix of first single, IDMA Award for Best Latin Dance Song), The Latin Project comes straight at you with a superb set of brand new songs and stunning remixes, all put together in their unique tradition-meets-electronica approach of fat beats blended with live musicianship. Stylistically evolving to include more mid-tempo material, the album raises the bar yet again for Latin Electronica. The album combines 8 original recordings with remixes by The Latin Project as well as collaborative re-works and remixes from heavyweight guest producers.

"With Musica De La Noche, we wanted to give our audience a chance to hear new original tracks back-to-back with some of the best remixes we've done between albums", says producer Jez Colin. "Some of our most dynamic work over the last few years has emerged from collaborations with other artists in our community such as Bebel Gilberto and Incognito."

The album features showcase performances by vocalists Freddie Crespo (veteran performer with Tito Puente, Joe Bataan, Charlie Palmieri); Debi Nova (Sergio Mendes, Sean Paul), Lonnie Jordan (from the seminal Latin crossover band WAR), Mitchell Long (Sergio Mendes, Bill Summers), Guadelupian Joel Virgil, Lauren Evans, and rapper Kool Kojak (from Urban Legend). Also included are remixes of their new material by genre heavyweights Shawn Lee and Ramin Sakurai (Supreme Beings Of Leisure).

Influences on Musica De La Noche range from Reggaeton to Afro-Beat and Bossa Nova. "We're always trying to find different rhythmic genres as building blocks," says Colin. "The last album was mainly house-music influenced, but this one stretches the musical expressions, lending the new material a more organic, dynamic feel." The result is an irresistible, head-nodding, foot-stomping party-vibe set with an aptly titled after dark feel.
