Bilal‘s album Airtight’s Revenge was released last year, providing a breath of fresh air to neo-soul. The album has produced some beautiful visuals to accompany singles including “Robots” and “Levels.” The latest of these videos is for the emotional standout track Bilal wrote for his son, “Little One.”
On March 5th, Bilal brings his own live band to the windy city for a rare Chicago performance by the Philadelphia-born Soulquarian. Bilal’s 2010 album Airtight’s Revenge was arguably one of the best soul albums of the year, getting incredible feedback from both his peers and the press. The remixes, the covers and videos that came along with it were all leading to this – the tour. If you’re in Chicago next weekend, catch Bilal at The Shrine, presented by Giant Step and Dusty Groove, to experience the voice Janelle Monáe once described as a Van Gogh painting.
Check out the new video from Bilal‘s latest album Airtight’s Revenge, the directorial debut by highly acclaimed musician Flying Lotus. This video for “Levels” is an appropriate spaced-out trip with multi-dimensional planes, omniscient third eyes, and naturally, Erykah Badu as the goddess. The video also includes a cameo from Thundercat and the producer of the song, Shafiq Husayn. Congratulations to Bilal on his Grammy nomination for the song dedicated to his children, “Little One,” another great single from Airtight’s Revenge.

Vtech Music has given us videos of Bilal in an amazing jam session, reworking classic songs like “Is This Love” and “Tainted Love.” But it’s especially appropriate that today they have released Bilal’s official music video for “Robots,” a track from the monster of an album Airtight’s Revenge.
From Vtech, An Election Day Special:
On this Election Day 2010, Bilal teams up with French director Mikael Colombu to bring you “Robots”. Come along and join us on this multi-media journey as we see the world of politics through Bilal’s eyes. Mikael’s ability to translate Bilal’s words into imagery, gives us a chance to properly reflect on his ideology of modern times.
To Bilal, people are becoming more like robots through the use of manipulative propaganda by corporate media . This video is his way of opening everyone’s eyes to the truth. As you watch “Robots” you’ll soon find yourself paying very close attention to what is really going on.
Pass this along, and help the robots amongst us.
And don’t forget to make a change by voting today.
Bilal‘s brand new video for the song “Restart,” which is directed by Micheal Sterling Eaton, is a sweet blend of Bilal’s vibrant vocals and Eaton’s intense and stark imagery. This funky song is from Bilal’s latest album, Airtight’s Revenge, released via Plug Research.
