Video: Colm K – The Love EP + Free MP3

The Cork Ireland-based producer and RBMA graduate Colm K drops his new EP ‘The Love’ today on Bastard Jazz Recordings, flush with vinyl-primed bassy instrumental productions that run the gamut from Floating Points-esque dancefloor explorations to Dilla-inspired neck-breakers. The EP comes paired with a sensual video from Practice & Theory designer Donal Thorton (known for Onra’s Long Distance cover) who also created the other-worldly cover art for this 12-inch release.

Check out the full set below and be sure to grab the free download of “The Attic” featuring collaborator and keyboard wizard Walshy.

New Release: Potatohead People feat. Frank Nitt – Kosmichemusik EP + Free MP3

Brooklyn wax-pushers Bastard Jazz Recordings have just released an expansive new EP (and limited-edition 7″) from Canadian producers Potatohead People (aka Nick Wisdom & AstroLogical). Just in time for Valentine’s Day,  the crew has offered up a free download of the EP’s love-sick anthem ”Back To My Shit” featuring heralded Detroit rapper Frank Nitt (Frank’n'Dank, J. Dilla). The production duo’s signature deep, synth-heavy beat underscores Nitty’s honest tale of breakup and redemption. Grab the MP3 below, and steam the entire Kosmichemusik EP (which also features the soulful vocals of Claire Mortifee and wordplay of Vancouver MC Moka Only) after the jump.
