Due to complications in production, Corinne Bailey Rae’s show has been moved from The Beach at Governors Island to Terminal 5. Doors open at 7pm on Friday, August 6th and show starts at 8pm with a special performance by Sondre Lerche. For those that have bought your tickets already, have no fear, all Governors Island tickets will be honored at Terminal 5. For those who haven’t yet, don’t wait too long or you might not get a ticket at all.
A short while ago we brought you Corinne Bailey Rae’s seductive video for her song, “Closer,” off of her most recent album, The Sea. That’s why we’re excited about this new take on the song by soul singer and songwriter Jesse Boykins III. The Brooklyn based up-and-comer shows off his falsetto throughout the cover, which you can download at Soul Culture.
Also, if you’re a New Yorker or just in the area, you can catch Corinne Bailey Rae performing on The Beach at Governor’s Island on August 6th with Sondre Lerche.

Four years and four million album sales after her self-titled debut album comes Corinne Bailey Rae‘s long-awaited second album, The Sea. For the 30 year-old singer and songwriter from Leeds, this meant politely declining the suggestions that she work with this or that big-league producer in this or that big-money studio. The first single “I’d Do It All Again,” one of many highlights on album, is a sweeping, defiant declaration of love and faith. The Sea will undoubtedly elevate Bailey Rae beyond her already-considerable achievements and put her up there with the all-time greats.
