Silhouette Brown’s two Out Now

albumAfter half a decade, Silhouette Brown – the original production and songwriting team of Bembe Segue, Kaidi Tatham and Dego – return with their sophomore album aptly titled, two. Silhouette Brown guides us towards a new dimension for modern soul music with a distinctively London-esque flair, combining jazz and nu soul.

This time they are joined by Philadelphia’s Lady Alma of 4hero’s “Hold It Down” fame and delve into an array of subject matters. Leaning toward a hip hop sound, “Get With It” features Brand Nubian’s Sadat X, who waxes about uniting and progressing. Another instant hit is the collaboration with musical director Akwasi on “Strawberries in Vinegar,” a guaranteed boogie anthem. On two, London’s underground production heroes Dego and Kaidi push a warm, sumptuous, melody-driven groove in a way that only they know how.

Silhouette Brown To Release New Album, Two

silhouette

Silhouette Brown‘s self-titled debut was greatly received and seemed to fill a gap in the soul underground, so 5 years is a long time to wait for a follow-up. But as they say, good things come to those who wait. The production & song writing team that is Silhouette Brown consists of Bembe Segue, Kaidi Tatham and Dego. This time around they are joined by a new vocalist the unmistakable sound of Philadelphia’s Lady Alma. Lady Alma has appeared on countless club classics over the years from Sylk 130’s “When the Funk Hits the Fan” to Soul Dahmma’s “Happy” and 4hero’s “Hold it Down”.

Two will be released on February 9, 2010 on 2000black Records.

Artists Robi Walters and Leanne Wright of Bless-ed are exhibiting two collections of work for a presentation entitled Superimposing The Thought Of Happiness at the Dapper Dan Imperial Gallery in NYC.

In 2004, they moved back to Leanne’s native Canada. Inspired by their surroundings, their two children and their absolute need to create, their art began to flourish.
