New Release: Jenna Andrews – ‘Kiss and Run EP’

By now singer/songwriter Jenna Andrews has got to have you feeling some sort of way with that totally unfair cooing voice of hers. We’ve shared a few tracks to whet your appetite so far: “Mourning Sickness,” “Kiss and Run,” and “I Didn’t Mean It.”

And today, you can have all the rest with the release of Jenna’s 7-track Kiss and Run EP, featuring an all-star production cast: The Messengers (Justin Bieber, Chris Brown), Dan Heath (Lana Del Rey), Doc McKinney (The Weeknd, Drake, Mary J. Blige), Adam Pallin (Cobra Starship), Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, Paloma Faith, Lady Gaga, Far East Movement), and Wayne Wilkins (Beyonce, Jordin Sparks, Cheryl Cole).

The determined artist’s passion seamlessly translates from her story to honest, real lyrics that she aims to use to help give ‘little girls and young women hope that their dreams can come true.’ We can get behind that, no doubt.

Also today, Jenna released her video for “Weapon,” which happens to be one of our favorite tracks off the EP. And yet another gorgeous video to complement a candid song about the double edged sword that love can often be.

The XX are something like fairy dust. Their debut album left us in an awe-filled paralysis as it seems to have also left Drake and Rihanna with their recent The XX samplings.

News of a sophomore album in the works has produced somewhat of an uncontainable glee of which we’ll spare you the details. What we will offer is a little preview of the album a la the “Open Eyes” demo above. Put this in a movie now.

New Release: The Weeknd – ‘Thursday’ Mixtape

Late last night, The Weeknd released the second installment of his three-part mixtape series. Thursday is already blazing up the internets and we totally understand – the guy makes some hypnotizing sexy time music. With the wild success of his first mixtape, House of Balloons, it’s not surprising that his website got so much traffic last night that it ended up getting overloaded.

Stream and download the mixtape below! And if you fancy Drake, be sure to check out “The Zone.”
