Following Erykah Badu on Twitter this morning, we get a glimpse of the challenging record production process. Last night she announced that she had 24 hours to clear a Paul McCartney sample or her song would not make the album. Ultimately the powers of @fatbellybella made this thing - clearing samples - a notoriously long, difficult, often impossible process- into an incredibly easy link-up. And it looks like the sample has been cleared already, so we'll be happy to hear that particular track on the next New Amerykah!
"Window Seat," another single from New Amerykah came out last week.

Did you know the new Gil Scott-Heron record I'm New Here has a some special vinyl-only tracks? Gilles knows. Other gems in this week's edition of GPWW include the original sample for Jay Electronica's "Exhibit C," a reggae version of the great Bob James' "Nautilus," Erykah Badu's new track "Window Seat," new music from Blundeto, Darkstar, Gideon Van Gelder and more.
This week Gilles also features a mix by Kalabrese out of Zurich, Switzerland.

This Friday Erykah used her Twitter account to drop little hints towards the new album, and after a suspenseful countdown, a video for the leaked track "Jump Up in the Air (And Stay There) ft. Lil Wayne" with Bilal.
Erykah Badu has announced the release date for her fifth studio album, New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh. The new album is the singer’s hotly anticipated follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2008 disc, New Amerykah Part One: 4th World War.
In contrast to New Amerykah Part One: 4th World War, which was digitally produced and political in tone, New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh features lush live instrumentation and taps into Badu’s emotional side by thematically focusing on romance and relationships. “With Part One, I was standing at an apex, looking at what was going on around me politically, socially, and economically,” Badu explained. “With Part Two, I’m hovering over me, looking at what’s going on inside of me.”
