All month long, the Red Bull Music Academy will be hosting events in New York City to celebrate their 2013 cohort in our beloved city. Folks can find a full listing on the RBMA website.

NYC: Giant Step Presents Quadron at Le Poisson Rouge – 4/25

Giant Step is thrilled to re-introduce Danish duo Quadron to New York on April 25 at Le Poisson Rouge. This is a show you don’t want to miss. With their upcoming sophomore album out June 4th, vocalist Coco O. and multi-instrumentalist / producer Robin Hanniba will showcase a new sound that bridges soul, pop, folk, and electronic music and reveals influences such as Lauryn Hill and Sade.

Quadron has already received immense support from notable musicians such as Prince, Gilles Peterson, and Adele. Join us Thursday, April 25 to witness the tremendous talent of this duo.

Review: Ester Rada Debut at Slipper Room, NYC – 3/11

Ester Rada’s phenomenal acoustic performance at The Slipper Room was well received by a diverse New York crowd. Accompanied by guitarist Nadav Peled, Rada created an intimate connection with the audience. Her unsurpassed energy, powerful voice, engaging storytelling, and rhythmic moves kept the crowd attentive, grooving to the beat, and requesting encores. Rada’s performance focused on her first self-written EP, Life Happens, which features hits such as, “Could It Be “. Ester Rada is definitely one to look out for.

NYC: US Debut Of Ester Rada at The Slipper Room, Tonight

Join us tonight at The Slipper Room to witness the Israeli-Ethiopian singer, Ester Rada, in a special intimate, acoustic showcase before she flies to SXSW. She has already turned heads with Life Happens, her self-written solo EP produced by Kutiman (Thru-You) and Sabbo (Soulico). With influences such as Jill Scott, Nina Simone, and Erykah Badu, Rada brings a distinct voice to soul and we are thrilled to introduce her to New York.

LA: SCORED Presents “The Wizard” – July 25th

 

This coming Monday, July 25th, join Mark de Clive-Lowe, Miguel Atwood Ferguson, and Dexter Story for their live interpretations of The Wizard of Oz score. Created 19 times for screen, the film boasts a variety of sounds with its classic soundtrack.

For this performance, several versions will be “mashed up and intertwined along with a completely improvised soundtrack” by the musical directors for the night.

Look out for this event to become a regular and global thing. Coming to a town near you!
