TRON: Legacy Motion Comic

Given the cult following of the original 1982 film Tron, Disney naturally wanted to create the same enthusiasm in a new generation of sci-fi nerds. To accomplish this, they teamed up with Double Barrel Motion Studios to create a “motion comic” with interactive Tron-style visuals. The motion comic will be an interpretation of the film, skewed to appeal to children under 8 years old, available on the iTunes app store.

Gil-Scott Heron & Chris Cunningham Video

Last night filmmaker Chris Cunningham debuted his work New York Is Killing Me at the MoMA, an audio-visual remix of Gil-Scott Heron‘s song; a “musique concrete” of “New York Is Killing Me” from the recent album I’m New Here. The above video is a single channel version, but for the event it was projected onto 3 screens with an extended version of the song. Cunningham replaced 90% of the original music with recordings of trains and environmental sounds, giving the song a darker cinematic vibe.
