New Track: Denitia Odigie – “Weekend” (Studio Version)

Singer Denitia Odigie has got an addictive voice and style that sounds something like a blend of Mara Hruby, Jennah Bell, Fiona Apple, and Norah Jones. The good folks of Okayplayer put us on to this lady with their premier of the studio version of her “Weekend” tune, which you can disappear into below.

The song will be on her upcoming album, Air, Light. For a look into where the song originally came from, take a listen to her Songs For Sunsets + Dream Suite EP below.

Video: Sophie Auster – “Run Run Run”

NYC singer/songwriter Sophie Auster certainly seems to have to ripped a welcome page from Fiona Apple’s book. Having released her most recent album, Red Weather earlier this month, she today dropped the video for the album’s first single, “Run Run Run.”

Love the quality and richness of her voice as well as the moody unground parlor feel in the video.

So, this little Sky Ferreira lady totally rocked out to her hipster Madonna vibes in that last “Everything Is Embarrassing” video we posted. Kinda ruled, didn’t it? This time in her new video for “Sad Video,” she’s got a little Fiona Apple thing going – how is it that this tiny lassie has got such a thick honeyed voice? We just wanna squeeze it all day long. Love.
