New Tracks: Frank Ocean – “White” + “Whip Appeal”

Two Frank Ocean tracks have been floating around the internets recently, each with a distinct vibe. The first is “White,” Frank’s solo track on Odd Future’s The OF Tape, Vol. 2 release, which dropped last week. Accompanied by an understated Rhodes, sir Ocean fills the vacancy with a similarly toned story of loss and loneliness. Grab the compilation and you’ll get a couple other Frank features on there as well!

On the flip is “Whip Appeal,” a track meant for the official deluxe re-release of Nostalgia, Ultra (called Nostalgia, Lite), which now seems will be no more. The drum centric synthy tune will at minimum inspire an uncontrollable twitch, amidst dreamy lyrics about ‘pretty girls driving his sports car’ – since his license got suspended and all.

According to The Guardian, Frank’s decision to drop plans for the official release of Nostalgia, Lite only means a keener focus on his debut album to drop later this year. Ocean tells Complex, “I think it will be one of the biggest albums to come out in a while.” Go ahead, then!

New Track: Frank Ocean – “Voodoo” [Snippet]

[kml_flashembed movie="" width="550" height="445" allowfullscreen="true" fvars="fs=1" /]

Frank Ocean took to his Tumblr again to leave us with yet another mysterious set of sounds. This particular treat is called “Voodoo,” and has a relatively slowed down, relaxed vibe. Clocking in at 1:38, it’s difficult to exactly where this track while show up, if anywhere. Alas, a very repeatable one minute and thirty eight seconds it is – we’ll take it.

New Tracks: Frank Ocean – “Girlfriend’s Best Friend” & “4 Tears”

A couple new tracks from the beloved Frank Ocean. The radio ready “Girlfriend’s Best Friend” features a more straightforward R&B vocal style sure to inspire a mass reach. Take a listen to the stream below and act like you don’t wanna gyrate just a little bit.

“4 Tears” was leaked on sir Ocean’s Tumblr and sounds more like a working snippet, yet with a lot of potential. Also more in the mainstream vain, this tune is a smooth, easy listen. Check it out on Tumblr.
