HBO’s Treme Season 2 – Begins Sun, 4/24

This weekend, at long last, the second season of Treme kicks off on HBO, and with our SXSW Day Event still fresh in our minds, we couldn’t be more excited.

Created by HBO’s The Wire co-creators David Simon and Eric Overmyer, the 11-episode second season of the Emmy®-nominated drama series is set in New Orleans 2006, more than a year since Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. The national spotlight on the Crescent City has dimmed, and residents are finding it harder than ever to rebuild their lives. Some have become expatriates in distant cities. The insurance checks that never arrived for homeowners were followed by the bureaucratic nightmare that was the Road Home program, and a land-grab is underway as developers and disaster capitalists press their advantage. HBO Presents Treme: A Special SXSW Day Event – Photo Recap

Thanks to all those who joined us in Austin last week. Our SXSW day party for the upcoming second season premier of HBO’s Treme was a smashing success and we couldn’t have done it without all of you. Make sure you tune in to HBO on April 24th for the new season of Treme.

The Guardian made a short film of the Second Line which lead into our HBO / Treme event yesterday with Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Dancingman504, Henry Butler and lots more New Orleans, Louisiana (NOLA) partying, with catering provided by Evangeline Cafe. We posted a download of this song by Aloe Blacc when it was premiered as the theme song for HBO’s How To Make It in America – now the official video is out. (Thanks Stones Throw!) The video also contains a short section of the song “Take Me Back” from Aloe Blacc’s upcoming album Good Things.
