Have a Happy New Year w/ Common and Rye Rye

2

Not sure about you but it’s hard for us to look fabulous on New Year’s Eve drunk on champagne in eight inches of snow. So why don’t you break out your brand new Jimmy Choos and come ring in the New Year at the stunningly chic Delano Hotel, amid South Beach, Miami‘s 75 degree temperatures.

Common will be performing inside The Florida Room, which holds only 200 people, with DJ Tommy Ryk stimulating your mind and your body. In case you don’t feel like being inside when the clock strikes midnight, Poolside, we will have Rye Rye shaking it down with DJ Mateo DiFontaine. And if all that isn’t enough, from 10pm-1am there will be an open bar included in the price of your ticket. Now tell us if you can think of a better place to be.

RSVP and TICKETS are a must for both events! So hurry up because they are going fast.

Tricky’s Knowle West Boy Remixed by South Rakkas Crew

Print
Tricky Meets South Rakkas Crew comes out today, a version excursion of ten tracks from Tricky‘s Knowle West Boy, where electro-dancehall collides with Tricky’s whispering ‘sprechgesang’ lyrical style to create a dancehall filler, radio killer, soundtrack thriller that seems to touch on all the happening urban sounds from around the globe. We’re talking hip-hop, reggae and rock inna dubstep dancehall style that’s left-of-center pop for the 21st century. As Tricky says: “We come in peace and leave you in pieces.”

The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble Pays Tribute

FULL SCREEN
The Sounds of VTech / Hypnotic Brass Ensemble by Mochilla

The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble teamed up with Miguel Atwood-Ferguson in LA for this live event, which sold out quickly and brought support from artists like Aloe Blacc and Madlib. Miguel Atwood-Ferguson played viola and wrote this arrangement of “Scrabble” specifically for the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. It’s a jazz song by Rene Costy, which inspired Dilla to create one of his best-loved tracks.

The enthusiastic crowd of music lovers that packed their way into the Echoplex for this special show and were not disappointed by the magic they witnessed. Exclusive music, top quality sound, and a stunning performance. Thanks to VTech Music and Mochilla for the video.

Wayward Saints’ Future Vintage Available Digitally Today

coverartwsThe Wayward Saints‘ relaxed, jazz-infused sound rides seductively over hypnotic beats to create a unique groove on Future Vintage. This eclectic mix is the creation of two veterans – Presto and Avatar – of the California hip hop scene, whose late-night jam sessions laid the groundwork for the album. Its warm organic overtones signal a departure from the robotic rhythms of Wayward Saints’ urban contemporaries, instead providing the listener with a relaxed atmosphere of luminescent grooves.

With live instrumentation throughout, Presto laces melodies with MiniMoogs, Rhodes keyboards and the ASR-10, while Avatar holds down the low end on bass and rhythm guitar. Jacob Slim, Smile Oak & DJ Rylo round out the roster, contributing lead guitar, saxophone and turntables, respectively. Wayward Saints bridge the old school with the new, creating a sound for cratediggers and wine-tasters alike. The sample-worthy material on their debut album Future Vintage will surely find its place in the crates of DJs and beat afficionados.
