Here’s another unreleased bonus track from Joy Jones, whose debut album Godchild was just released on Future Soul Records. This song – done with Jones’ inimitable touch – is a cover of the spiritual “Go Down Moses,” which was popularized by civil rights activist Paul Robeson.
After dropping a few pre-release bonus tracks like “Be My Husband” and “Go Down Moses / Funky Drummer,” Joy Jones’ new album Godchild is finally available in stores and online! Today Joy presents her fans with a thought-provoking album of meaningful themes and a blend of styles.
She describes it best in her own words: “I have spent quite a bit of time thinking about what I want to say and the messages I want to put out. This is a labor of love and I hope that it translates and transforms into a tool for change. This journey to LP has largely been due to divine choreography, fabulous blessings and good folks. I am constantly amazed at the trajectory.”
