New Release: [re:jazz] – ‘Kaleidoscope’

[re:jazz] this month released their funky, soulful jazz album Kaleidoscope and it’s awesome. The wonderful N’dea Davenport also makes a guest appearance on the album, making us a little weak in the knees.

Filled with a tasty stew of mellow melodies, Kaleidoscope brings us back to that whirly ambient nu-jazz of the early and mid 2000s. Automatic grown and sexy swank time.

Video: Zakee – “Snakes”

Back in December, we introduced you to progressive afrobeat artist Zakee via his “Push The Power” video, which we still can’t stop bobbing around to.

This gorgeous new video for “Snakes” makes a great substitute for your media player’s “visualizations” function with it’s kaleidoscope overlays that are more than just a little entrancing. This stuff is like a techno tribal drum party on an echoey mountaintop. Brilliant.
