New Track: Theresa Andersson – “Injuns” (Live in Sweden)

New Orleans based singer Theresa Andersson has got a little tribal-esque Feist and Bjork action going on for this live version of “Injuns” and we love it so! What gorgeous whirlwind of sound. The Swedish artist interestingly cites soul and gospel amongst her influences.

Known best for her live shows, she “uses looping pedals to build layers of percussion and stringed instruments” to set the groundwork for her captivating vocals. Kind of reminds us of what Zoe Keating and Kimbra do, which we also love.

Stream and download the track below, thank us later.

A slightly psycho and spazzy Kimbra invites her special man friend to enter her kooky brain in this new video for “Come Into My Head.” Interesting juxtaposition of pure white and all red – actually kinda creepy. Yet oddly enticing. Everybody loves themselves a crazy boo now and then – it’s fun, no?

Remember when we all collectively lost our minds to that crazy crazy live performance Kimbra put on at the Spotify House at SXSW this year? Yeah.

Today, we have a cutesy lyric video from the super talented gal. The song is called “Two Way Street” and reminds us of a more flowery Esthero.

What a special treat this lady is. New Zealand born and Melbourne based vocalist Kimbra is more than just a singer, boasting vocal acrobatics against a jazzy, soulful electro-pop backdrop. Just take a little eensie weensie peek at her singlehandedly murdering it at the Spotify Sessions during this year’s SXSW Festival and be rendered speechless – a one woman maestro. And could she be any more adorable? Do they make pocket size versions of her? Please?

Wonderfully shot video, too – really great capture of the mood at the awesome Spotify House (which we had the pleasure of visiting)!

Citing Nina Simone, Prince, and Bjork as influences, can we be any more excited to take a peek at Kimbra’s debut album, Vows that dropped last August? Probably not.
