Coco of Quadron convenes with her bandmates to do a beautiful rendition of Lauryn Hill's "Ex-Factor." Pretty incredible for an impromptu performance that's basically a cappella. Gotta love the charming courtyard in Vienna and the elegant Coco is doing nothing less than killing it in that fit.
No one seems to know where "Repercussions" came from, but we're happy to hear some newly surfaced music from the talented Lauryn Hill. Rumors of a comeback have been circulating since Ms. Hill's NPR interview and addition to the Rock the Bells line-up, which will put the former Fugees member back in the spotlight after a decade of avoiding it. Still don't know if there's a new album in the works, but we'll take what we can get from the enigmatic icon and hope there's more to come.
After years of almost total silence from Lauryn Hill, she finally opened up to NPR about her music, why she left the game, and where she's headed next. While her classic solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was groundbreaking in part because of her unique ability to sing over hooks she also rapped, she's focusing now on "opening up [her] range, really sing more." According to Lauryn, "Most people have never really heard me 'sing sing sing'... if I do record again, next time perhaps it will be in an expanded context." And for those have been missing Ms. Hill's voice, she's starting to perform again, including the Rock the Bells tour this summer. She told NPR, "I think it's just time [to perform more], I'm starting to get excited again."
