LA: SCORED Presents ‘A Trip Beyond the Moon’ – Dec 12

Man, the folks in LA really got it good with this series. Hopefully you caught the last one in August, because we’re totally jealous here in NYC.

Once again, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Miguel Atwood Ferguson, and Dexter Story have come together to present their most recent SCORED installment called A Trip Beyond the Moon.

On Monday December 12th, the three comrades will be paying tribute to the “cinematic genius” of Georges Méliès. Always thorough, the guys will be making sure to cover everywhere from his earliest pieces to more recent work driven by Méliès’ groundbreaking innovations in special effects.

Per usual, Mark, Miguel, and Dexter will be bringing the aural treats with VJ Synesthete on the visual mix. Stimulation for days.

Two unique sets will take place through the course of the night: one at 8PM and one at 9.30PM – all for one admission price!

New Release: Mark de Clive-Lowe – ‘Renegades’

Our friend Mark de Clive-Lowe this week released his ninth studio album, Renegades. Hopefully you heard his bright and shiny track with Nia Andrews called “The Why.” In addition to the lovely miss Nia, the album boasts appearances from the much loved Omar, Sheila E, and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson.

Mark shares about his approach to blending recording styles and genre, “My whole thing with this kind of production is balancing electronics and programming with organic and live musicianship. I love for that line to be blurred almost to the point where you don’t know which is which.”

And now that you’re all topsy-turvy with anticipation, enjoy a full stream of the album below before you buy!

New Release: Mark de Clive-Lowe – ‘CHURCH Vol. 3′

We fully approve of this sunny jazz mixtape by Mark de Clive-Lowe. Called CHURCH Vol. 3, the jazz mixtape celebrates the one year anniversary of MdCL’s monthly party at Angel’s Piano Bar in Santa Monica (first Sundays). The event features a live acoustic jazz trio set, improvised electronic beats with special guests, and of course, some amazing DJ sets.

There are really incredible remixes and interpretations of some favorites on here. Do take a listen and download this – it almost shouldn’t be free.
